Side effects of Acupuncture
Generally speaking, there are two ways to perform acupuncture needling. One is non-skin penetrating acupuncture needling and the other one is skin penetrating acupuncture needling.
Skin penetrating acupuncture needling has a small chance to cause bruising and/or bleeding. Also, it is quite rare but a lightheadedness may be associated with acupuncture needling especially if it is your first-time acupuncture treatment and/or your stomach is empty. A temporary fainting can also be followed by the lightheadedness although it is an absolutely rare case.
In our practice, Naomi uses both techniques of skin penetrating needling and non-skin penetrating needling up to purpose of the needling and each client's constitution.
