GLP-1 Side Effects & Recovery

Acupuncture Support During and After Weight-Loss Medication

Medications like semaglutide and tirzepatide are helping many people reach their goals. They also ask a great deal of the body, and the adjustment is rarely smooth — the nausea, the sluggish digestion, the days your energy simply isn't there.

These are the body's way of telling you it's working hard to keep up. Some people feel this while they're still on the medication; others have finished and find the effects still dragging on weeks later. Acupuncture can help ease both.

The aim is the same either way: help your body feel like itself again.

The care meets you where you are

If you're still taking a GLP-1:
We work to ease the side effects as they come — nausea, slow digestion, low energy — and keep them from wearing you down while the medication does its work. This support continues for as long as you need it.

If you've finished but the effects are lingering:
We work through a course of treatment to clear what's dragging on and help your body settle back into its own rhythm.

How the plan works

Care begins with a first visit, then continues in a package of five or ten treatments — you choose the length that fits where you are. How it's arranged depends on whether we've worked together before.

If you are new to the practice:

1. Your first visit. We begin with the initial consultation and treatment, where I take time to understand your body and the side effects it's carrying. ($270)

2. Your package. From there, you continue with a package of five ($1,025) or ten ($1,950) treatments, spaced to match how you're feeling.

If you are already a patient:

There's no initial consultation needed — you begin directly with a package of five ($1,025) or ten ($1,950), whichever suits where you are.

GLP-1 support is one part of a whole-body acupuncture practice. You can read more about how the work is done on our acupuncture page.

This work supports the medication and the care you're already receiving; it never replaces it. Please stay in close contact with the doctor guiding your treatment, and know that I'm glad to coordinate with them when it helps.

The aim stays the same: your body, feeling like itself again.
