Scoliosis Pain & Daily Comfort

Acupuncture Support for the Muscle Pain and Fatigue That Come With Scoliosis

Woman waking in morning light, stretching both arms overhead freely and without hesitation

A curved spine asks the muscles around it to work unevenly, day after day. The pain and stiffness that follow are rarely limited to one place — the neck, the back, the ankles and wrists, the jaw.

That constant, uneven effort is tiring. Many people find their energy thins out by afternoon, their thinking goes foggy, and their sleep breaks up because a comfortable position is hard to find. These are not four separate problems. They are one body telling you it is carrying more than its share.

Most people manage it by making themselves a little smaller — reaching not quite as far, turning not quite as much, staying just short of the movement that would hurt. It happens so gradually that it stops feeling like a choice.

The curve itself is not what we treat. We work with the muscles around it — easing the ones that are overpowering, waking the ones that have gone quiet — so the body can hold itself with less strain. Much of what scoliosis costs you day to day can ease, even when the curve stays exactly as it is.

The care meets you where you are

If the pain is with you most days:
We work to bring down the pain and stiffness where they are loudest right now, so that moving through your day and resting at night both become easier. This support continues for as long as you need it.

If you have been told this is simply something to live with:
The curve may be permanent. The pain and fatigue around it often are not. We work through a course of treatment to see how much of what you are carrying can be set down.

How the plan works

Care begins with a first visit, then continues in a package of five or ten treatments — you choose the length that fits where you are. With scoliosis, I usually suggest weekly sessions at first, then spacing them out as the pain settles.

If you are new to the practice:

1. Your first visit. We begin with the initial consultation and treatment, where I take time to understand your body and the pattern it has built around the curve. ($270)

2. Your package. From there, you continue with a package of five ($1,025) or ten ($1,950) treatments, spaced to match how you're feeling.

If you are already a patient:

There's no initial consultation needed — you begin directly with a package of five ($1,025) or ten ($1,950), whichever suits where you are.

Scoliosis is one of many conditions we treat. You can read more about the practice and how the work is done on the Acupuncture page.

This work supports the care you're already receiving; it never replaces it. If you are seeing an orthopedist, a physical therapist, or another provider for your scoliosis, please stay in close contact with them, and know that I'm glad to coordinate when it helps.

The curve stays as it is. What it costs you day to day does not have to.
